The writing pad (6,7) is contained in a chamber (4,5) in the seat part (2) and/or the backrest (3) of the seat (1), when not in use. The chamber is set back from the seat surface resp. the support surface of the backrest. The outer side (6',7') of the pad opposite to the writing side, is approx. flush with the seat surface resp. the support surface, and has upholstery corresponding to seat or backrest. The writing pad has a pull tab (9) on the outside, and a recess for e.g. writing utensils, on the writing side.
