Retaining ribs and circular guide members are provided on the base plate of the cassette. Two circular guide members are arranged with a cross-guide member between them for the surplus lengths of optical fibre. Differently shaped protective splice holders provided for receiving different types of splice protection elements. Pivot elements (VS,EG) are provided for pivoting the cassette or base plate horizontally or vertically. Add-on elements can be placed on the base plate for adapting to the required use.
