A preliminary manifold(2) is located between adjacent principal manifolds(11,12,13,14) and each hot runner channel(7) in the preliminary manifold runs to a side face of the latter where it meets a hot runner at an opposing side face of a principal manifold. A firm seal is retained between the opposing faces at the runner meeting points by pressing the preliminary and principal manifolds together with springs(6).
