The streetcar has a hood-type covering(1) which has at least one additional noise suppressing layer(15,16). At least one flat section(11) with reduced wall thickness has a noise suppressing layer which is at least partially constructed from lead which may be rolled lead. The noise suppressing layer containing lead is applied to a outer surface of the covering which is acted upon by external atmosphere. The noise suppressing layer may be attached to the covering by adhesive and/or by rivets.
