Contactless bending method, comprises a heat source, directed at the upper side (O) of a plastic component (T) for a period that locally melts the plastic and produces a temperature gradient through the plastic thickness and a volume gradient of molten plastic. Shrinkage stresses (PF1) induced as the plastic cools cause the component to bend towards (PF2) the heat source. An Independent claim is made for plastic parts with thermoplastic characteristics bent by the process.
