The seat device has a bench (1), a back rest (2), two arm rests (3) with cams (4) and a nape support (5). The bench and back rest can each be rotated about axes (6,7) perpendicular to the symmetry planes of the body. The back rest axis (7) is arranged on a horizontal line through or above the L4 and L5 vertebrae. The bench is arranged under the thighs with the front edge against the backs of the knees. The lower arms can be pressed against the cams on the arm supports. The inclination of the upper torso is limited at the rear by the nape support.
