The invention relates to a transmission, especially for wind power installations. The inventive transmission comprises a planetary stage (4) on the drive side that is mounted upstream of at least one gear stage. Said planetary stage (4) consists of at least two torque-split planetary gears (5a, 5b) that are mounted in parallel. The invention is further characterized in that a differential gear (9) is mounted downstream of said torque-split planetary gears (5a, 5b) so as to compensate for an unequal load distribution between the individual planetary gears (5a, 5b) caused by the mounting in parallel.
