The coated and uncoated metal sheets are recognized by irradiation of laser beams of predefined wavelengths which are selected corresponding to the metal sheets to be recognized. Laser beams reflected from the metal sheets is detected by the special detectors. The detection result is stored and processed by execution of calculation program.
