The cupboard (10) has a drawer (16) and a lockable door (14) with a self-operating lock mechanism (18). The drawer has an insertion mechanism, which is provided so that the drawer is automatically pulled into the cupboard at a given time after it has been pulled out. Preferably, the drawer is pulled shut by a pressure or tension element, such as a spring. The drawer may be held locked in its pulled out position and automatically closed after the given time has elapsed.
