The continuous belt (12), to carry a drawn sliver through a condensing zone, has an inner sliding surface with a good sliding character to move over the fixed surface (17) of the suction unit at the sliver drawing station for a spinning machine. The sliding surface is treated by washing together with a sliding agent. After washing, the dimensions of the belt loop are calibrated by stretching, to give the required diameter. The belt sliding surface is air permeable.
