The belt (21) to carry drawn sliver through a condensing station, at the sliver drawing unit for a spinning machine, is a plastics belt with a thickness of 0.3-0.7 mm. The belt perforations are passage openings which, in total, cover the working zone of the suction slit (19). Each perforation passage has a smallest clear width of 0.2-0.7 mm. The smallest clear width extends generally in the movement direction (A) of the sliver travel. The belt perforations are round holes or narrow slits, or both. The width of the sliver transport belt (21) is only slightly larger that the working width of the suction slit (19).
