Vibration damper has particle discharge openings (56) for abraded particles in or near guide (34) for support element (52). Particle discharge openings are open radial outwards. Damping spring is supported or supportable by support element (52) at primary or secondary. Vibration damper has in or near guide (34) for support element (52), particle discharge openings (56) for abraded particles. Vibration damper is made up of primary (12) and secondary (36) . Secondary is rotatable against the effect of the damping spring (48) w.r.t primary about rotational axis (A). Damping spring is supported or supportable by support element (52) at primary or secondary. Guide path (34) at primary or secondary supports support element and allows its movement on relative rotation between primary and secondary. At the side of the primary and secondary on which guide path is located, is a damping spring take-up chamber, which is partially closed radial outwards by the guide path, so that the other side of primary and secondary engages with spring in interaction and the damping spring take-up chamber is partially open radial inwards. The inner open area provides air flow outwards during rotation, which cools apparatus and assists discharge of abraded particles away from the vibrational damper.
