The linkage eye (1) is formed by at least two legs (7), and a base (5), produced by non-cutting shaping and pref. cold extrusion. The legs (7) are parallel to each other, and are at right angles to the base (5), and have a consistent cross section along their length. In a further process, they are bent to form the eye, and the ends (9) of the legs are bonded together.
