Absorbing layer (1) has high absorbency. First storage layer (2) with low absorbency is fitted on a non-absorbing intermediate layer (3). A non-absorbing boundary layer (7) fits on the side of the first storage layer opposite the intermediate layer with through-holes (4), whose number, size and distribution are selected to allow part of a liquid absorbed by the absorbing layer to reach the first storage layer and impregnate it continuously.
