Vehicle, travel or driver data is recorded and pre- processed for further analysis with each measurement recorded in conjunction with corresponding time and or position data. Pre- processing of data can take place in real-time and can include data compression, statistical treatment and mathematical or logical linking. Such data can then be displayed or transmitted. Data processing typically involves formation of long-term or short-term statistics and data compression. An independent claim is made for a device for recording of vehicle and driver data including various sensors, GPS, timer and controlling processor.
