The bore(14) and cylinder liner(16) of the crankcase are constructed in at least two diameters(d1,d2) over the length of the cylinder liner. The section with the larger diameter bore in relation to the section of with the smaller diameter cylinder liner is constructed dimensionally approximately as a close sliding fit. The diameter difference is preferably 0.1mm - 0.2mm. The outer circumference of the cylinder liner and/or the bore are provided with recesses.
