The cover (2), made of a durable synthetic material, is painted white in the longitudinal central area (10) in order to create a higher heat reflecting capacity as in the two adjacent areas (11) which are of a black colour. The crests of the soil rows, containing the delicate tips of the asparagus, are not overheated, while the sides can retain the heat necessary for the growth of the vegetable. The edges of the cover (2) are folded into pokcet (3) alongside, which can be filled with soil or water filled pipes, in order to keep the cover (2) in position. Different versions of the cover (2) are available.
