Locking mechanism for fire-proof structures comprises a sprung insertion element (18) fixed between a profile (12) and a counter-profile (14). The insertion element moves into a locking position in which it engages with the counter-profile in case of fire. The spring element in a non-operating position is fixed to one side by a temperature resistant connection (20),and, on the other side by a stuck or soldered part (22) in the form of a screw to the profile.
