A coating system, based on pyranosyl-nucleic acids for the formation of adhesion compounds, comprises at least two coating agents (A) containing a pyranosyl nucleic acid and (B) containing other oligomers or polymers that form non-covalent bonds with (A) whereby the pyranosyl-nucleic acid comprises a pyranosephosphate back bone bonded to purine or pyrimidine bases. Independent claims are included for: (i) a coating agent containing a pyranosyl-nucleic acid for use in the coating system; (ii) a process for the formation of adhesion compounds, preferably electrically conductive compounds by activating the surfaces of the parts to be bonded; applying components (A) and (B) to the surfaces; immobilizing the oligomers or polymers on the surfaces; bringing the two surfaces into contact to allow the desired non-covalent bonds to be formed and optionally separating the bonded parts from the non-bonded parts; and (iii) the resulting adhesion compound.
