The device uses a filter (DMUX) inserted in the optical fibre conductor (LWL) of the ring network for providing a low attenuation for the individual optical signal and a high attenuation for signals outside the transmission channels, within the critical instability wavelength range. A second filter or coupler (MUX) is used for combining the individual optical signals to provide a wavelength multiplex signal, both filters combined in a single module, with the outputs of the first filter coupled to respective inputs of the second filter, at least one of the filters having a BULK or AWG filter structure.
