Ceramic component comprises a ceramic body (K); two electrodes applied to the body; and electrical connections (AL) for joining the electrodes to an external switch and/or a voltage source. The electrical connections are fixed to the body using a hardened electrically conducting composition (V) containing a precious metal except silver. The electrodes are covered with a protective casing (S). An independent claim is also included for a process for the production of a ceramic component comprising applying the electrodes to the ceramic body; adhering the electrical connections to the electrodes using a joining composition; hardening the composition; and applying a plastic casing over the electrodes.
