Multi-media input device for use in vehicle with operating buttons/devices located at different parts of surface for finger or thumb operation

Convex upper side of device (1) has area (3) for ball of hand and thumb and area (2) for rest of hand. First area has rotatable/displaceable input device, e.g. trackball (5). Second area has keys or pressure sensors (4) operated by fingers. Device is made of soft plastic, with hollow space to be blown up to increase size. Underside has alphanumeric keypad with cover, e.g. to operate telephone. Device has area to place hand, sectioned in two parts (2,3) one for ball of hand and thumb and part for rest of hand. Device is located on dash board or middle console connected by holder e.g. telescope rod. Keypad has microcomputer to monitor input units and communicate with vehicle multimedia unit.
