To couple the window fittings (1,11) forming the drive rod system, the first fitting (11) can tip on a third fitting (3) and the fittings couple (1,11) when converged. Fitting (11) tips independent of movement and adopts the best position to engage the fitting (1). Engagement is assisted by a spring (15) placed between the two fittings (1,11) to move fitting (11) away from the third fitting (3). The tipping movement between fitting (11) and fitting (3) is held in place by a pin and hole arrangement (9,10,12,13) and an endstop of connection (9 or 12) presses pin (12) deeper into hole (9) than the other pin (13) rides into hole (10).
