The spring-loaded joint for a car exhaust comprises a pipe (4) with a collar (5) which fits over a connector (8). The joint is held together by a semi-circular, sheet metal yoke which runs around the outside of the pipe and has ends (18, 19) which are bent over into a U-shape. Bolts (10) pass through slots in both sections of the U into bores in a flange (9) on the connector.
