The axial locking system comprises a cylindrical cap (1) which fits inside a cylindrical tube (3). Both of these have peripheral internal grooves (7, 9) which fit together to form a groove of circular cross-section into which a locking ring (5) fits. Sloping sections on both components above the groove allow a tool (17) to be inserted to ensure correct mounting of the ring.
