The variable air intake device for an internal combustion engine comprises a first manifold (1) between a throttle valve connection and the cylinders of the engine, to which connect the air suction pipes leading to the individual cylinders. In a predetermined section of the air suction pipes a device (7) is provided, the total volume of which is divisible by an adjustment device dependent upon the operating conditions of the internal combustion engine. The total volume is divisible into individual volumes corresponding to the number of air suction pipes. The total volume of the device forms a second manifold.
