摘要

The turbocharger operating method has the turbine geometry (5) of the turbine (3) of the turbocharger (2) altered during the engine braking mode, for providing a reduced flow cross-section, with a flow connection between the engine cylinder combustion spaces (13) and an exhaust gas line (7) provided by opening a braking valve (9). A regulator (10) controls the ratio between the turbine flow cross-section and the flow cross-section of the flow connection between the combustion spaces and the exhaust gas line in dependence on the engine revs.
