The device has a holder joined with three degrees of freedom to a lower part and a specimen holder freely movable upon it. The holder consists of a rectangular base with walls on two bounding sides, one inclined slightly inwards and one perpendicular to the base. The component is fixed on the specimen holder by a device rotatably mounted on a bearing block and mounted on the surface of the specimen holder with a spring to fix the component. The device positions components without contacting optically active surfaces and has a holder (4) joined (5) to a lower part (10) to be movable in three degrees of freedom about a rotation point and a specimen holder (3) freely movable upon it. The holder consists of a rectangular flat base (4.1) with upward directed walls on two bounding sides, one (4.2) inclined slightly inwards and one (4.3) perpendicular to the base. The component (2) is fixed on the specimen holder with a fixing device (7) rotatably mounted on a bearing block (8) and mounted on the surface of the specimen holder with a spring (9) to fix the component. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of accurate positioning of optical semiconducting components on a specimen holder.
