A web for printable paper in the form of an aqueous dispersion of pigments and adjuvants of solids content 50-80 wt.%, Brookfield viscosity, at a shear gradient of 10 second-1, of more than 103 mPa/second, and at a shear gradient of 5.10-1, 30-100 mPa is new. Independent claims are included for: (1) gelatin grafted with amide group containing and/or amino group containing ethylenically unsaturated monomers; (2) preparation of printable paper runs in which the web is applied to one or both sides of the run with a doctor.
