The driving information recording device uses a wide angle lens, e.g. a fish-eye lens (5), positioned so that it provides an image simultaneously recording the condition of the vehicle driver and the condition of the interior and the exterior of the vehicle. The image is converted into a digital signal for storage via a digital memory device, with cyclic updating of the stored image data, the updating blocked when a rapid variation in the vehicle condition is detected, indicating an accident.
