The injection device has an injection nozzle in the form of a dual needle nozzle for implementing various injection cross-sections for partial load operation and full load operation. A first nozzle needle interacts with first injection openings and a second with second injection openings. The needles (2,3) can be opened independently and alternatively in partial load mode. The two nozzle needles are alternately operable in partial load mode, whereby the changeover takes place after a defined number of injections, pref. after each injection. The needles are operated simultaneously in full load operation.
