The centrifuge has a liquid tight trough (26) in which a holding drum (21) is mounted. It has a thrust floor (25) and a material guide surface for solid-liquid separation. The thrust floor and the material guide surface can move longitudinally and the material guide surface is especially movable independently of the thrust floor. There is a device (32) for drying the solid material and/or a device (36) for mechanically settling the solids.
