A throttle flap opening level is detected (S100) along with engine and turbine speeds (RPMs). A lift-foot-up gearshift is executed (S200) if the throttle flap opening level drops abruptly. A controller determines (S300) if there is a difference in these RPMs below a preset value. The performance of a damper clutch is controlled (S500) if the difference in these RPMs falls below a preset value.
