Shadow mask consists of an iron-based alloy containing 31.0-38.0 wt.% nickel, 1.0-6.5 wt.% cobalt and 0.01-0.10 wt.% carbon. Preferred Features: The alloy has a tensile strength of 650 N/mm2 or more and 1000 N/mm2 or less. The mask comprises a frame element, a mask body in the form of a sheet as lattice element fixed to the frame; and a number of slits formed in the mask body. The mask body consists of an iron-based alloy containing 31.0-38.0 wt.% nickel, 1.0-6.5 wt.% cobalt and 0.01-0.10 wt.% carbon.
