Specific computer aided workpiece model to be tested, is selected and geometrical data of the selected model are acquired. Based on the acquired geometrical data, die opening direction is set with respect to which die lock and draft characteristics of model is evaluated. The sharp edge characteristics of selected model is evaluated, irrespective of die opening direction, in comparison with preset sharp edge data.
