Systems for operating, controlling and servicing domestic appliances are being developed for increased operating and servicing convenience, particularly with regard to the oven and extraction hood system. To provide better control and accessibility in this area, the oven (1) and the extractor hood (2) are joined, via a common interface (3), to a data transmission system e.g. the internet., and can be monitored, controlled and polled directly or via the test- and control units (7) and with the external control units (4).
