Method in which an area is scanned using X-rays of two different energies using X-ray sources on opposing sides of the area being scanned. The radiation sources are also be rotated about a longitudinal axis through the scanned area with receivers arranged to capture the transmitted X-ray energy. A number of image disks are measured along the scanned area. An area of interest is selected from the scanned area with a number of projections for that area. Two physical values are derived from the record sets, e.g. atomic number of an area of interest and density. An Independent claim is made for a computer tomography device for determining pairs of physical values for an area of interest in a scanned object.
