The method involves using a reference sound transmission measure for the headphone, from which a position-dependent filter curve is derived that is superimposed on the useful signal fed to the headphone. The headphone is placed on the user' head and the sound transducer is subjected to a test signal. The test signal response is measured from the outer ear of each user's ear with a microphone, individual transmission measures are derived, differences from the reference measure are formed and the filter curve is generated from the difference. Independent claims are also included for the following: a headset for implementing the method.
