The equipment measures data using pointer tracking profile between clamping (or contact) locations to determine path length to successive clamping locations and speed of the processing unit under numerical control. A given profile is followed by the tool (T) in contact with the processed workpiece (S) in accordance with signals for numerous evaluation points determining the processed surface, limiting speed of the processing unit passing through the evaluation points. A further unit calculates command speed for the processing unit, by calculating separation from one location of action, to the next. Numerical control is carried out by repetition of these stages in succession.
