A cushioning article is produced by providing an injection molding apparatus with injection orifices (24) having a discharge angle of 5-45 deg inclining from the vertical direction; injecting a thermoplastic polymer material in the form of strand (31) from the orifices into a mold; and cooling the mold (21, 22) followed by demolding.
