The central control desk (1) allows a teacher to provide individual work instructions and texts for each student. A control processor (2) has a hard disk memory (23), a main memory (=RAM) (24) continuously holding all relevant system and operating data, a central processor (=CPU) (25) and single board processors (3). The control processor is used to provide instructional data, delivered to each student's desk (7) via an interface (6'). Pref. a central processor (2) has an A-D converter (26) on an input side allowing analogue text passages received from a tape player (16) or microphone (17) to be converted into digital data for subsequent storage. ADVANTAGE - Simple variation or updating of instructional material.
