The ceramic coating of the thermal barrier type comprises, in the thickness, a pattern of columnar growth discontinued and repeated several times by successive regermination of the deposit of ceramic. The regermination is obtained by a vapour phase deposition process in which a polluting gas is introduced intermittently during the deposition of the ceramic. The ceramic coating obtained has a thermal conductivity lower than the ceramic coatings columnar.
