A car headlamp has a reflector (20) and a lamp installed in it. The reflector possesses a reflecting surface which can generate selectively two types of light bundle, namely for left-hand and right-hand traffic. The reflector assembly works together with a lamp which incorporates in a corresponding way one of two specified angular positions. The reflector carries a plate (30) which is rotatable relative to this reflector, on which this lamp is rigidly mounted. Carrying devices are present (32-42) to turn the plate by hand into the one or other of the two operating positions. Each operating position corresponds to a given angular position of the lamp. Devices are provided for clamping or locking between the unit formed by the plate and the lamp on one hand and a fixed part of the headlamp on the other hand, to guarantee the stable location of the plate in each of its operating positions.
