The tie ribbon material (1), to secure and package heavy loads, is formed by bonding together polyester filaments (2) with a glue. The adhesive to bond the filaments together is a hot melt glue of a thermo-fusible resin. Before bonding together, the polyester filaments (2) are separated and aligned by the tines of a comb (6). The aligned filaments (2) are formed into a bonded ribbon by a glue plate (10) and a ribbon draw section (3), with a lower block (4) and cover (5) held in place by a piston.
