Modular support bracket system for trunking, has two side wires bent and connected in parallel by wire spacers to form cantilever support for attachment to channel section upright
To form the bracket sides two identical lengths of hard-drawn steel wire (2,3) are bent approximately. in the center into Vees. These, lying in parallel planes, are connected, near the apex and about the middle of each leg, by e.g. 3 transverse wire spacers (4c;4a,4b), welded in place. The 4 free ends (5a,6a;5b,6b) are bent outwards at 90 degrees., forming short projecting stubs. Inward pressure (F1,F2) elastically deflects the bracket ends sufficiently to allow the stubs to pass between the sides (7b,7c) of a vertical mounting channel (7), e.g. one of a series fixed to the wall along which the trunking is to run. With the pressure released, the stub pairs enter two successive holes (8) of a series regularly spaced down each channel flange. Bracket dimensions are chosen so that it can be thus mounted, at any desired height, and will offer a horizontal top surface (2a,3a) on which to lay the, typically rectangular section, trunking.
