The reinforcement for neck of an the instrument comprising a body (12) and a number of strings (16) tensioned between a head on the free end of the neck and the body by means of a tension adjuster. The instrument incorporates a string force compensator (24) and pulleys (26, 26') to turn the tension of the strings towards the compensator, which is in the form of a comb (34) to which the second ends of the strings are attached, with a tie (36) between the comb and the head of the instrument. The tension turning system has separate pulleys for each of the strings, turning on horizontal spindles (28, 28').
