The spit consists of a spindly rod (3) on which the roast (2) is spit by means of a fork (4A, 4B) with at least one spike (6A,6B) which slide on the rod by means of a socket (5A,5B). The spike, the fork and the socket are all obtained from a single wire which is shaped to enable the socket to slide and be positioned on the rod and to form axial and rotational locking of the assembly.
