Boned hams (8) are pressed into shape in a mould (13) using a weight above (12). After pressing the ham is lifted out of the mould by a piston (15), the head of which is normally flush with the base of the mould. A horizontal bar (21) pushes the ham away from the mould onto a discharge conveyor (40).
