Measuring the temperature at points distributed in a charge inside a heat treatment furnace (6) comprises establishing a calibration curve giving flow deformation of the test pieces as a function of temperature, placing each of the pieces in the charge (8) of the furnace, realizing the heat treatment cycle and measuring the deformation due to the flow of each of the test pieces, and deducing the temperature at points in the charge from the calibration curve. Measuring the temperature at points distributed in a charge inside a heat treatment furnace (6) in which a charge is maintained during a heat treatment cycle in a manner such that the charge may be at a temperature as close as possible to the nominal treatment temperature and as homogeneous as possible during at least a part of the heat treatment cycle, comprises: (a) realizing several test pieces (4) destined to be subjected to a predetermined constraint in the furnace during the heat treatment; (b) establishing a calibration curve giving the flow deformation of the test pieces as a function of temperature; (c) placing each of the test pieces in the charge (8) of the furnace (6); (d) realizing the heat treatment cycle, and, after having cooled the charge (8), measuring the deformation due to the flow of each of the test pieces (4); and (e) deducing the temperature at points in the charge (8) in the furnace (6), from the calibration curve.
