The adjustable chair (1) comprises a seat part (2), a back (3) and two side uprights (10) forming the side parts of the back and the two feet of a front pair of feet (11). There is a rear pair of inclined feet (12). There is a first articulation (5) between the top end of the rear pair of feet and a front part of the seat. A second articulation (6) is between the two front and rear pairs of feet. A third articulation (7) pivots between a rear part of the seat and a lower part of the back. The third articulation can translate on the uprights along the back in guides (7'). A gas actuator (8) fixed between a rear part of the seat and the bottom front end of the front pair of feet enables adjustment of the height of the seat and the angle between the seat and the back.
